Pope Leo XIVA

A Historic Pontiff for a Global Church

Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost has taken the name Leo XIV, signalling continuity with predecessors like Francis and Leo XIII, known for social justice advocacy. Born in Chicago (1955) and holding dual Peruvian citizenship, he spent decades as a missionary in Peru, championing marginalised communities. His inaugural address emphasised “peace for all,” synodality, and building bridges. A humble Augustinian, he is expected to prioritise environmental action, poverty, and unity, extending Francis’s inclusive vision. We continue to pray for him and our Mother Church.
