Magnifica Humanitas

Pope Leo has written his first encyclical Magnifica Humanitas means “Magnificent humanity” on safeguarding the human person in the time of artificial intelligence. This encyclical was released On 25 May 2026. It is a document about how we preserve the wonder and glory of the human person in the age of artificial intelligence. Pope Leo reminds us all of our dignity as human persons, made in the image and likeness of God.

Honouring the Holy Trinity today, we celebrate the great gift of God’s love for our world and humanity. The key to the Trinity is to understand that the three persons who make it up totally love each other and are completely involved in each other’s actions. This is important because it gives us the focus we need to understand ourselves. We need to know that we were created in love, with this dignity and love of God to humanity, we are made in the image and likeness of God.
