I picked up painting by accident as a retirement hobby when I joined a beginner’s drawing and painting class at Lewisham Adult Learning Centre shortly before the start of COVID-19.
After two 10-week courses and four years dedicated to honing my newfound talent, I am now a working artist. I have amassed an impressive collection of over 300 abstract and landscape paintings, exploring themes of nature, emotions, space, and home.
All this despite never having picked up a brush before 70. I have held two successful local exhibitions, one at Forest Hill Library and another in the Upper Hall of St. William of York RC Church. I am working towards my third exhibition this summer.
