NATURE WALKS
Walk, talk and get to know your neighbours.
Three times a year we walk together through the green spaces on our doorstep. There is no charge, no need to book, and no need to be fit. There is a short route and a longer one and you can join or leave at any point along the way.
The walks are an opportunity to talk, to get some fresh air, and to meet people from the local community you might not otherwise meet. Everyone is welcome, whether or not you have any connection to the church. Bring friends and family.
WHAT HAPPENS
We set off together from St William of York at 2pm. Both routes finish back at Café York, where refreshments are waiting and where most of the conversation actually happens.
Wear suitable footwear and layers for the weather. On a warm day, bring water, a hat and sun cream. Walkers set their own pace and nobody is left behind.

WHAT DIFFERENCE IT MAKES
For someone living alone, a walk with a fixed date in the diary is a reason to leave the house and a few hours of company that does not have to be asked for. For someone who has been unwell, the short route and the freedom to turn back at any point make it possible to take part at all. And for people who have lived on the same streets for years without meeting, two hours of walking side by side does what a formal event rarely manages.
The walks also introduce people to green spaces on their own doorstep such as Blythe Hill Fields, Ladywell Fields and the River Pool Linear Park.

Just turn up at the church at 2pm on the day. If you would like to ask anything about the pace, the route, or coming on your own email swoybewellhub@gmail.com and we will reply.
We are also looking for volunteers to help lead walks.
Come together and connect. All are welcome.
