About Us

12th Forest Hill is part of Lewisham District, which covers a network of 26 Groups with about 1,000 memberships in the Borough. This group opened on 23rd November 1972 and is a registered charity. We have a 60 acre camp site near Addington in Surrey called Frylands Wood. The Group’s Youth Programme is run by Warranted Leaders, led by a Group Scout Leader. The Group is largely administered by an elected Executive Committee upon which the Parish Priest is represented.

What we do

Scouting aims to empower young people by giving them the skills they need to take control of their own lives within a value based structure. We run our groups at The Scout Hut, St German’s Road on Thursdays at different times for each group. Young people take part in the decision making at all levels of the Association.

Who can get involved

BEAVERS: Thursdays 18:00 to 19:00

Beaver Scouts cater for children aged 6-8 years old. Activities include making things, outdoor activities, playing games, day trips, investigating nature, learning safety awareness and most importantly, making new friends.

Cub Scouts ages range between 8 and 10½. Cub Scouts can participate in a variety of activities: swimming, music, exploring, computing, day trips to theme parks and zoos amongst others. Cubs wear a range of badges to show their progress.

SCOUTS: currently closed. The Scout Section is for young people, usually aged between 10½ and 14 years. A young person can come into the Troop at 10 and may stay until they are 14½ years old.
